The British Red Cross announced today that local business woman and volunteer Emma Monkman will join the organisation as a Trustee to the Board from January, 1, 2019.
Emma Monkman has volunteered with the British Red Cross for nearly seven years where she has taken on numerous roles including Emergency Response Volunteer, Refugee Support and is currently Chair of the Area Volunteer Council.
Emma has a degree in International Relations and a Master’s in Environmental Politics and Climate Change. She started the Derby University Student Action for Refugees (STAR) society in 2015 and was President of the society for two years.
Selected for their expertise, all trustees give their time and energy for free to lead the British Red Cross.
Currently a Director at Derby Motorbike Training, a company she set up, Emma is also a Trustee on the board of Lyme Green Settlement and Rural Action Derbyshire.
